1903
For soft modem applications the 73M1903 and 73M1903C offer a low cost single-chip analog front end (AFE) for modems with a single serial host interface for data and control for up to 56Kbps and is ideally suited for multi-function printer, fax machine, personal video recorder (PVR), game console, Internet appliance and Set-Top-Box applications. The BOM of the 73M1903 is optimized for single region deployments, but can easily be modified for multi-region applications. The 73M1903C has a switchable dual transmitter which allows the configuration of the modem to support multiple-regions under software control. Management of DAA functions including parallel pickup, ring detection, caller-ID, hook control and eight GPIO. The 73M1903 and 73M1903C provide a robust and reliable solution for embedded systems designed for normal and extreme environments support.Features
Highly integrated Analog Front End (AFE)- Supports all ITU-T V series modem modulation standards: V.92, V.90, V.34, V.32 bis, V.22 bis, V.23, V.21 and all Group 3 fax modulations
- Single serial host interface for both data and control
- Management of DAA functions including parallel pickup, ring detection, caller ID and hook control along with eight (8) programmable GPIO pins
- 16-bit CODEC
- Global DAA compliance with FCC, ETSI 203, JATE and PTT standards with bill of materials optimized for country and application
- Supports transition path where hard modem can be replaced by a soft modem as an overall system cost reduction. Pin for pin compatible with and can replace Teridian's 73M2901CE embedded low speed modem.
