Teridian's solutions for energy metering are comprised of a wide array of system-on-chip (SOC) devices which provide a highly accurate, reliable, and cost effective alternative to multi-chip implementations. Teridian's patented Single Converter Technology™ delivers better than 2000:1 dynamic range and a unique 32-bit programmable metrology engine which can be adapted to meet changing customer requirements.
With three generations of standard metering SOC products in production, and more than 20 years of electricity metering ASIC expertise, our full range of products built on one development platform provide an efficient and expeditious way to develop any class of meter for ANSI and IEC markets.
Teridian 71M65xx family of products meet worldwide requirements for very high end metering systems with advanced communications processing and metrology capabilities, as well as very low end Watt-Hour, anti-tamper and prepayment meters.
Standard features include RTC, temperature sensor, 8-bit Flash MCU, LCD driver, and multiple serial ports. Please refer to appropriate product for specific features and specification details.
Smart Card Readers For Pre-Payment
Energy meters with pre-payment capabilities are increasingly using smart card readers with an ISO7816-3 type card interface incorporated into the system. Implementing these types of card interfaces can be time consuming and require experience with smart card system design for software protocol layer implementation and attaining compliance standards.
Teridian offers a large portfolio of smart card reader ICs and technical solutions that dramatically simplify the design and shorten development and certification timelines for energy meter applications.
Programming Tools
Teridian's TFP2 Flash Programmer: in system programming, pre-program individual ICs on a simple socket module board
ADM51-ICE (In-Circuit Emulator): Signum Systems ADM51 is compatible with Keil's symbolic output format. Performs code emulation with breakpoints, watch windows, support of source code symbols etc. Ideal for programming small engineering and prototype builds
