Electronic Trip Unit
Teridian provides Electronic Trip Unit (ETU) solutions for load control, motor protection, and other types of power or current monitoring applications. Utilizing Teridian's patented Single Converter Technology, these devices incorporate a dual core approach with an industry standard 80515 based supervisory/communication processor for trip thresholds as well as a dedicated 32bit compute engine (CE) for metrology. The family incorporates a 22-bit delta-sigma ADC, digital temperature compensation, precision voltage reference, timers, Real Time Clock (RTC), and UARTs. Armed with an internal digital di/dt integrator, these programmable devices support low resistance shunts, current transformers, or Rogowski coils for any or all input channels and can be configured to provide instantaneous and delayed over-current, earth-leakage and ground-fault protection functions. These devices come with different number of inputs and suitable for up to two loads on single phase (78M6612), up to eight loads on single phase (78M6618), or one load on three phase (71M6403).
